The objective of the project was to merge the EMR Android application with the Hospital Management System desktop application. Allowing printouts from any network printer and facilitating an easy transition from paper-based to electronic medical records. The application aims to improve the quality of service, information flow, and operational costs. Making the records easily accessible and shareable records leads to better, faster, and lifesaving medical decisions.

EMR system integration with the existing hospital system demands a robust and adaptable infrastructure to support the data. The existing challenge was to develop an Android version of the existing web (EMR) and desktop (HMS) applications. This new version aimed to make the application a more versatile and easier-to-handle tool for healthcare professionals.

The Android application that Softnotions developed helped healthcare practitioners access and manage patient information securely. It consolidated patient health data, including vital signs, pain scores, prescriptions, lab results, and more, into a single account. The system supported printing prescriptions, lab details, radiology reports, and visit summaries. The HMS took care of the initial patient registration and by sharing a common database, any updates in one system could be reflected across all the systems. This integration led to easy data sharing and improved overall quality of healthcare services.
