iStyle is an innovative Android application that transforms how you engage with your wardrobe. Inspired by the sleek and intuitive experience of flipping through music albums on iTunes or an iPod, iStyle brings the same effortlessness to your fashion choices. Upload images of your clothing items and a few photos of your face, and watch as iStyle merges them seamlessly for a realistic virtual try-on. Swipe through your virtual closet, selecting outfits from different categories, and see how they look on you in real time.
Business Challenges
The iStyle application faced a unique challenge due to the 2D format of the images, affecting the quality of virtual try-ons. Ensuring that users could accurately perceive the appearance of outfits was important for the app’s success encouraging them to make a purchase. The other challenge was accessing and maintaining the quality of these images across different platforms, whether on mobile or web.
Solutions Proposed
Softnotions proposed a solution that enhanced image quality by improving sharpness and contrast, addressing any blur effects to provide high-resolution visuals. To streamline data management, we enabled the application to save all data in a local database, with pictures stored directly in the device’s gallery for easy retrieval and access. We also integrated cloud access, allowing users to view their images from anywhere and share their merged outfits on social media. By adding the images directly to the gallery, we eliminated the need for a separate storage section.
